Make Yummy Cake Pops

We make no secret of the fact that we have love affair for all things sweet. And while macarons and cupcakes have certainly made their mark, the cake pop is your new go-to culinary creation. The best part? You can personalise these tasty treats to include just about any filling you like and measurements aren’t important! They’re easy to throw together, have real wow factor and are sure to make an impact at a birthday party or gathering (they also make an ideal after-dinner treat). So go on, give in and give them a go!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 x Betty Crocker Devil’s Food Cake Mix
  • 1x Bag of White Chocolate Melts
  • 1 x Bag of ‘Hundreds and Thousands’ sprinkles
  • 1 x Bag lollies your choice (M&M’s, Jaffas, Mini Marshmallows etc)
  • 1 x Packet of Lollipop Sticks (we got ours from Spotlight)

  1. Bake the cake following the instructions on the box. Once done, take out of the oven and set it aside to cool
  2. Grab a mixing bowl and put the cake in. Break it apart with your hands until it’s as fine in consistency as you an get it
  3. Add the frosting from the cake packet into the bowl along with your preferred amount of lollies (we used mini M&M’s for these ones; for a larger lolly ensure you crush them)
  4. Using your hands, mix the broken cake, frosting and lollies together in the bowl until they’re all combined
  5. Roll the mixture into balls of about 2.5cm (1 inch) and put aside on a plate
  6. Place white chocolate melts into a microwave safe bowl and pop into the microwave at 60 second intervals until it is melted
  7. Grab a lollipop stick and dip the end into the melted white chocolate (this will act as a glue) and then stick it into your cake ball
  8. Dip the cake ball into the melted chocolate and then into a bowl of hundreds and thousands, fully coating them
  9. Place finished stick into a foam block to dry

Let us know how yours turned out and remember – you can customise them with anything you like, so get creative and keep us posted!
