We’re loving our newest showcase store – La Croix (French for “The Cross”).
It is located in the ritzy suburb of Potts Point and close to all the hustle and bustle of Sydney’s Kings Cross area. However, when you step inside, it is an oasis of opulence and calm.
Fresh, simple and delicious food served up in a beautifully decorated restaurant… and wherever you choose to sit, you have a front row view of the most decadent of home furnishings in their dreamy concept store.
I wander in to meet a friend for mid-week lunch. After our delicious meal, he has to head back to work and although I have a busy day ahead of me, I just can’t resist staying back to smell every single candle, touch every antique piece of furniture and ponder every item that could be a gift for each respective friend (I have a top forty ‘gifting shortlist’ in my head – doesn’t everyone?).
This is definitely a treasure trove for anyone who wants to indulge in something special for their home. Every home deserves a little “haute home couture” now and then, don’t you think?
Take a look through all the things I fell in love with at La Croix:
The food is not fussy, but the flavours are rich… and the desserts decadent. Their peach tart even inspired me to try out my own creation, albeit a significantly lazier equivalent.
Their menu has French flavours throughout, and their own organic blend of coffee is just liquid gold. If you’re a lover of great wines, their selection of French wines is going to hit the spot. They are sourced from vineyards across France.
They have also just opened their bar Aperitif @ LA CROIX on the 26th September. It’s open Thursdays from 5pm and Sundays from 3pm – we may see you there for a drink!
The lighting is just amazing. They really know how to showcase their wares a harmonious ambience. Everything is just so tempting… and considering their antiques and collectables are all quality pieces sourced from throughout France and Belgium, the prices tags are very reasonable – that is, for an indulgent splurge.
They have a great selection of smaller home decor items and giftware too. The cheese platters and wooden bowls are just charming. I’ll be going back next week to get one for a corporate cheese and wine afternoon I’ll be doing the styling for.
Maya, my little adventurous toddler is just as amazed with the store. And although I love that she is growing an appreciation for beautiful wares at such an early age, I have to serve her up a constant stream of swift diversions as she lunges towards exquisite glass pieces and stone platters. Cheeky, little critter!
The photos don’t do this place justice, so please do drop for a meal and a charmed home wares encounter. Thanks to the lovely team at La Croix for your welcoming hospitality and for creating such an amazing concept store.
Oh and if you haven’t already, make sure you head over and join our CREATIVE COMMUNITY ON FACEBOOK. We’ll be announcing a special promotion just from La Croix just for H&D fans next week!
